This semester has taught me a very valuable lesson: give yourself grace. This semester has been full of immense pressure as I think about life after college. I have had many sleepless nights and many emotional breakdowns. One thing I know for sure is that it will be okay (I am mostly saying this for myself).
Life is so hectic and it’s easy to think we need to be doing more and achieving greater heights. While evolving is important, it’s also important to recognize that life is about balance. I love spending time with my friends, and getting my nails done. These simple moments remind me that it is so important to breathe. My friends uplift me and make me cut myself some slack.
It is so easy to be hard on yourself, but give yourself a little grace today because you’re doing amazing sweetie (Kris Jenner please don’t sue me)!
Let’s get grounded!
It’s beginning to look a lot like fall! Today I had my first hot drink of the season at a gem that has taken the coffee industry by storm. Blue Bottle coffee shop is quiet, modern, and sleek. I had a cappuccino and my heart instantly felt at peace. For me, drinking coffee brings a stillness that my Type A Personality needs. After a crazy emotional week, there’s nothing like a good cup of coffee to bring me back to center.
Today I have been reflecting on the amazing people in my life. I am literally so blessed to be loved by so many. I have lifelong friends and college friends that love me like we’ve known each other forever. I can say this with every fiber in my being: without friends I would have never made it! I am always amazed at how many people have my back on a regular basis.
I often take my friends for granted, and for that I am truly sorry. Think about the friends in your life. Do they make you feel loved, respected, and cared for? Mine do! And I wouldn’t trade them for the world.
Let us be grateful to people who make us happy, they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom.Marcel Proust
Cherish your loved ones today. Let your friends know how much they mean to you and don’t be afraid to be lovey and gushy!
Ain’t nobody messing with my clique! Because if they mess with my friends, they mess with me.
